to run, too proud to hide, for this I’ll pay, for this I’ll die.”
I had a feeling about this book. I only saw a small teaser image and the blurb, but something told me I was going to love this story. When it downloaded to my kindle, I jumped right in. J.L. Drake’s Trigger was everything I didn’t know I wanted!
Prince Charming is overrated, Trigger. People like us need people equally as fucked up. It evens shit out.
This is the epitome of an MC romance. I mean, I expect a certain level of dark, but there’s dark and then there’s dark. Trigger was in the latter category which is to say delightfully twisted, starkly violent and swallowed in shadows.
Our heroine, Tess, finds herself caught up in the Devil’s Reach MC. From there, it’s full throttle action. Tess is one tough-ass chick. Smart and courageous, she has a streak of recklessness that challenges the dominating presence of the MC prez, Trigger. This girl knows what she brings to the table and she brings it–full stop.
Trigger himself is rough around the edges, a very in-your-face character, but there’s an honesty to him that I couldn’t help but be drawn too. His darkness reaches out to Tess’s, and there’s no telling what’s going to happen next.
This world feels real and gritty and authentic. Secrets piled on top of secrets that’s compounded by subterfuge while wrapped in brotherhood and intrigue. I stared at my kindle after reading the last page, my jaw dropped, while I begged—begged—for more to appear!
No doubt about it, Trigger packs a punch. You don’t want to miss one-clicking this one.
