Release Day Review: On Your Knees, Prospect by K.A. Merikan

34536214— There is freedom in blacking boots for the right man. —

Jake. Kings of Hell MC Prospect. Obedient. Desperate for approval.
Vars. Dominant. Stern. Undead.

Jake is itching to become a patched member of the Kings of Hell MC.
For two years he’s toiled as the only prospect. So when a new guy swans in and thinks he’ll get a patch in no time just because he’s got friends in high places, Jake is there to stand in his way.
Only that the guy is older, more experienced, drives a Harley, and has the kind of boots Jake craves to lick.
But he won’t.
Because he only fucks patches.

Vars is ready to find a new home in the Kings of Hell MC after a messy relationship led him straight to hell. In comparison, the pretty, blue-eyed prospect could be just the pleasant rebound he needs.
The boy is a brat, but that could be amended with a firm hand and a gag.
If only Jake was ready to admit to his submissive needs, Vars would gladly take him under his wing.
That is, until he finds out something inhuman resides inside of Jake.
Vars didn’t cheat death only to call out to it again.

But stuck together in one room, keeping each other’s secrets, they might just have to become allies, no matter how unwilling. Because if there is something Vars can’t resist, it’s a boy with pleading eyes.

“You are mine now, boy. This room is soundproof. No one will hear you scream.”
“Yes, sir. My body is yours.”

Review

Just when I think K.A. Merikan has shown me the ultimate in chemistry, we get…

JAKE.

*clutches heart*

AND VARS!

I have been in a massive reading slump. I’ve been struggling to finish books and taking days to do it. Then On Your Knees, Prospect came to my email, and I gave my happy squeal of anticipation and dived right in.

I devoured it whole.

Jake has been a prospect with the King of Hell MC, and he is definitely devoted to the cause. I don’t think I realized just how devoted and sweet and determined and loyal he was, and my heart just ached for him. Constantly overlooked, he’s ready for more and it leads him down to the most treacherous part of the MC.

The mystery of what exactly Jake finds and what is going on with him…it kept me flipping pages into the night. My husband took one look at me sitting in the middle of the living room floor and said, “You’re going to be reading all night, aren’t you?” Yes, Sir, I am!

And then Jake meets Vars who’s supposed to be a prospect like Jake, but Vars isn’t the usual prospect. Jake’s battling his jealousy at the special treatment, but he’s always so incredibly drawn to the sexy, older, take-charge Vars, too. Ugh, give me a commanding but gentle-hearted guy any day and it’s all swoons. Which is Vars, in a nutshell.

But this is all I’m going to say. There are so many secrets bundled in lust and hope and danger and intrigue. This book was an epic journey, and this series gets better and better. And what happens to Gray??? OMG, you guys, I need Gray’s Shadow.

You’re in for a treat, just like any K.A. Merikan dark romance (In my opinion.) You can’t go wrong with this series if you love darker stories with plot twists galore, super sexy steam, connections and chemistry that deliver the feels, and all the camaraderie one could hope for.

I already preordered my own copy 🙂

5 stars!
